Founded in 2016, Overlooked Group has grown into a six-mine resources company.
building on coal operations whose roots reach back decades, while steadily expanding capacity, ownership and a just transition toward the green economy.
We entered the coal mining industry with the acquisition of Overlooked Colliery, initially producing just 80,000 tons of ROM per month.
Today, a decade later, we proudly produce 800,000 tons per month, managing six collieries and six plants across our operations.

Ontiretse Mathews Senosi
Group Chief Executive Officer
Ontiretse Mathews Senosi is an accomplished mining engineer and seasoned entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in the coal mining industry. He holds a qualification in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
As Group Chief Executive Officer, he provides strategic leadership and direction, drawing on his extensive industry knowledge and entrepreneurial expertise to guide the Group’s growth. He is passionate about developing the next generation of African leaders across the mining sector. Senosi is a thought leader in his own right who contributes deep insights to the industry. He possesses very distinct and courageous point of view, and has a consistent track record of sharing valuable, original acumens that are shaping the future of the industry in the African region.
Luyanda Mngadi
Group Chief Financial Officer
Luyanda Mngadi is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in the mining sector. She joined the Group in August 2021, following a distinguished 14-year career at PwC, where she served as a partner and advised a diverse portfolio of mining clients. She also contributed to PwC’s SA Mine publication, which provides insights into South Africa’s mining industry.
She holds an Executive MBA from London Business School, completed in 2019, and has gained valuable international experience in the United Kingdom and the United States. Beyond her executive responsibilities, Luyanda is passionate about developing future finance professionals and mentors aspiring Chartered Accountants through the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
Kgosietsile Mafoko
Chief Executive Officer — Katlego Mining Operations
Brings 23 years of operational expertise and an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch. A seasoned leader known for change management and turnaround projects, with a strong foundation in coal mining processes. He serves as a Non-Executive Board Member of the Mine Health and Safety Council.
Henry Mello
General Manager — Tswelopele Mining Operations
An accomplished mining professional with more than 20 years in South African coal. A qualified Mining Engineer (BSc, University of the Witwatersrand) holding a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency from the DMRE. Known for calm leadership, a strong work ethic and building high-performing teams.
