Enterprise and Supplier Development
Our Enterprise & Supplier Development Programme, Siyathuthuka, aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in surrounding communities.
Through Siyathuthuka, we have:
Provided small business training to approximately 1,500 people from our host communities.
Awarded long-term contracts to entrepreneurs, enabling them to grow their businesses and create jobs. We have supported SMEs with machinery and resources, empowering them to execute contracts and expand their operations. Overlooked Group awarded five contracts through our ESD programme, including contracts for material handling, coal shunting, material handling, running a canteen, and another material handling contract. These contracts have enabled the beneficiaries to grow their businesses, create jobs, and contribute to the local economy.
Overlooked Group’s CSR Initiatives in Govan Mbeki: Empowering Communities
We partnered with Bell Equipment Sales South Africa (BESSA) to build four houses for indigent families in the eMzinoni area, with BESSA providing a significant contribution of over R1 million. This initiative not only provided safe and secure housing for those in need but also utilized local contractors, subcontractors, and laborers, thereby supporting the local economy.
We have built houses in communities where we operate, providing decent living conditions for families. The housing project is one of Overlooked Group’s flagship community development initiatives. Our goal is to provide decent and sustainable housing solutions to needy families within our communities.
